Wishing you the best and much happiness on your birthday! Just remain the way you are. Do not ever change for being the kind of person that you are: WONDERFUL, SWEET AND CARING!!!!
Colonials,
I just wanted to take my time to congratulate four of our young Raven members on the Raven Battle Group, for achieving excellence in school. We may do what do here on the Raven Battle Group on the side for fun but what matters the most, is what we really accomplished in real life. Well, four of our young Raven members have achieved excellence in school by making it on the honor roll list in their respective school ( A's and B's on ) on their first 9 week grading period. These four young Raven members are certainly off to a good start for this school year.
1. Ensign David "Wedge" Sangrey- Youngest Raven Raptor Pilot ( Seekers Assist. Squadron Leader )
2. Lance Corporal Jr "Scorpion"- Young Raven Colonial Marine
3. Private Abraham " Menace" - Young Raven Colonial Marine
3. Raven Honorary Member - Eddie " Marine Enforcer Jr." - The youngest Raven of all
Please JOIN me in congratulating these young Ravens for a job well done in school. Scorpion, Menace and Marine Enforcer Jr, have all been rewarded already for a job well done in school. "Wedge", as my promise to you for getting good grades, you have earned yourself a Raven patch and lanyard. Thanks for the screen shot of your grades in school. Your Raven patch and lanyard, will be mailed out here shortly.

***ATTENTION ON DECK***
I am a firm believer in giving people chances to grow and be successful especially by wanting to take on a bigger responsibility just as long as they understand that by doing so, they have to be able to do the job what is required of them for that position. Raven Command will always be there to help people out if they need guidance. If people only want the rank and position and not wanting to do the job, then I have no problem relieving people from that position.
So with that said, it is with great pleasure that I announce, the new Seekers Raptor Squadron Commander- Ensign Michael " Mik Mo" Morelock! With the new position, he is also hereby promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade, with all the rights and priviledges that comes with that rank and position, effective immediately on this day of 16th of October 2015.
Congratulations to you Lieutenant Junior Grade Morelock, not only on your new position, but on your promotion. May the Lords of Kobol guide you as you start on your journey as the new Seekers Squadron Commander. May he impart on you wisdom, courage, and integrity as you execute the new position.

Steve Tweed, the current Raven Executive Officer of Battlestar Raven, has been filling in the position of OPS Officer which he originally vacated when he got selected to become Executive Officer. But now, it is time to select the best candidate out there to fill in the position. The OPS Officer job description is as follows:
OPERATIONS:
Chief of Operations:
1. Second Officer and third in Command
2. Oversees and manages the real-life details of the fan club
3. Member of the senior staff
4. Problem solving person for operations
5. Monthly reports
6. Communicates with operations personnel
7. Considers/approves operations request with XO approval
8. Support and attend community service and other projects
9. Attend all required meetings
10. All other duties as assigned
If you think you have what it takes to be the Raven Operation Officer, then send me an email for consideration for this position at: battlestarraven002.com
If you are one of those people that is ONLY seeking rank and position, then you are the wrong candidate for this Raven Command Staff Position. An ideal candidate should be a good team player ( there is NO I on TEAM) , has an " I can do attitude", does NOT have a chipped on their shoulder, has a positive attitude because if you are that type of person that loves to create a problem, then, do not let the door hit you on the way out. The Raven Battle Group is a very honorable group and has a good reputation in the scifi community. We value quality over quantity. This community of friends are here because they want too. Not because they are here for that ficticious rank and or position. So, if you think you have what it takes to be one of the Raven Command Staff Members, then send me an email explaining why you should be considered for the Ravens Operations Officer position on the Raven. REMEMBER, the first impression makes a lasting impression.

Good Morning,
It is finally Friday! HOOAH!!!!!!!!!!! First order of business today is to let people know, if they do not already know, the Gunstar Trireme, Battlestar Raven's 1st Gunstar Escort, has been OFFICIALLY commissioned this past August 2,2015. We did a pre-commissioning ceremony which was officiated by none other than Luciana Carro herself. She was so sweet for doing that.
Good hunting to the crew of Trireme, who is taking her place alongside the Raven as her protector, OFFCIALLY forming the Raven Battle Group. More ships will be commissioned as part of the Raven Battle Group!
SO SAY WE ALL!!!!!

***The second round of promotion will be posted here shortly!!!!!! I finally got my new graphics software loaded to my laptop!
Well, what can I say! The Raven Battle Group was very busy this past weekend. The group was represented at two different conventions:
Convention Photos Link: Raven Gallery
Houston Comicpalooza
Tulsa Comic Con
First off, I would like to thank the following people who helped at the Raven table:
Paul Oakley- Gunny was with me throughout the whole entire four days.
Steve Tweed- My XO who came all the way from Wisconsin and helped out for two days. It was a pleasure to finally meet him in person.
Tim Riley- The Raven Cylon Command Centurion Member. I was glad to see him doing what he love best once considering what he recently went through on a personal level. I know she is smiling down on you seeing you doing what you love doing with her. As always, Tim attracts a lot of people as he walks around.
Tony and Cherie Leach- What a surprise indeed was this for Cherie from her husband Tony. He surprise her with coming to Comicpalooza to meet Jeremy Renner. Thank you for coming all the way from Oklahoma and hanged out at the Raven table allowing me to enjoy a little bit of what the con has to offer. I was able to meet and get Stan Lee's autograph and Jeremy Renner. So mission accomplished on my part on that aspect. And Cherie and Tony, you both are a riot LOL!!!! I was watching my oldest son during the first group dinner laugh at Tony as Tony tells stories about Cherie! :-)
Many thanks to all those who dropped in and said hello- new members George Mellis and his friends, Rob Tipton, Gayle Jackson and her family and others......
The Raven was also represented at the Tulsa Comic Con and was headed by Raven Communications Officer Shane "Ogre" Coble. Shane just went through a recent shoulder surgery so I was a little reluctant him doing a lot of work manning the Raven table at the Tulsa Comic Con when I saw him make a post with in regards about the Tulsa Comic Con. Shane and I spoke on the side that as much as I appreciate him wanting to represent the Raven at the Tulsa Comic Con, I rather not have him do it because he should be recovering from his shoulder surgery. But he kept re-assuring me he can handle it. So I finally said, okey....I will do what I can to support you. I made him promise that he will take it easy while doing it. I then send him some promotional items for the Raven, BFC and Galacticon 4. And it looks like it was a success as well. I would like to make a note per Shane's report to me, that special credit goes to Jill Horton for helping out at the Raven Tulsa table and she is not even a member. To Jill, thank you very much for helping at the table! I agreatly appreciate that. And to Chris Rowe, the convention director/promoter for the Tulsa Comic Con, thank you for inviting our group and having us at your con once again.
It was indeed a twin convention appearance for the Raven Battle Group this past weekend. But the highlight between the two cons was everyone having fun, meeting new members in person, meeting my XO for the first time in person and my one and only good friend Miguel Rivera, coming down to surprise me the way he did. I have not seen him in over two years since we saw each other last at Galacticon 3. We were texting each other before I arrived at the convention site. He was telling me and the kids to have fun. But little did I know what is about to transpire. I finally arrived at the Raven table with the rest of the display that is suppose to be put on the table. Then as I was talking to everyone that was there, I heard someone say to me from my left side " Hi!" It took me a little bit to realize that it was Miguel in the flesh. When it finally dawn on me, I just dropped whatever I was doing and went towards him and gave him a hug. Out of all the things I can find to hit him with for being sneaky, I ended up grabbing a ball cap hat LOL. Him and I have been through a lot together in the science fiction community. We went through our own set of ups and downs together and our friendship was tested and even put to the limit. But in the end along with time, we reforge a much stronger friendship which is solely based on our experience with science fiction political BS and drama. We promise each other to never let scifi drama or scifi political BS, to ever put a wedge in our friendship ever again. We both believe what we do on the side should be fun, not to be taken too seriously and should not let the ficticious rank get to ones head. It is only for the enhancement of ones experience in that scifi community. We both know and have seen that there are a lot of people out there that are just like that. And they take the fun out of things. All of us have lives outside the virtual world of battlestars, cylon basestars, vipers and raptors. And that real life event is more important than anything else. Real life should not be mix with what is not real. And that is what Miguel and I have learned through our unpleasant experience in the past. We both swear that we will NEVER ever allow a repeat of that kind of experience ever. A couple of beliefs him and I both share are as follows:
1. We believe in quality vs. quantity in membership wise
2. It is not all about the ficticious rank.
3. It is about the members
4. It is about having fun
5. It is about helping other members in need
The one highlight I will never forget that made my jaw dropped out of surprise was, being promoted to Rear Admiral by the BFC Fleet Admiral.
( Thank you for the gorgeous RADM pins Miguel )
I was not expecting that at all. I have always been the kind of person just satisfied being the behind the seen kind of person. If you notice, I do not even use the rank that comes with being the CO of the Raven on my profile page. I am quite content using DragonLady or Raven Actual. I can just be as effective and do kickass work by just remaining simple. I do not need long titles or signature lines for people to know who I am. I am known through the scifi community as DragonLady. And I am satisfied with that. But like Sgt. Hillman said to me on the side, I better get used to the crew calling me Admiral DragonLady because that is who I am now. :-) :-) All I can say is, I will try my best to get used to it and be worthy of that rank. :-)
And to everyone who had a hand in the surprise celebration that took place for me over the weekend, THANK YOU SO MUCH from the bottom of my heart especially the POINT man, Iceworm! AHEMMM!!!!! And yeah, yeah! You told me you were only following orders. :-) I have to start keeping an eye on you LOL. But thank you so much for everything.
( Iceworm, THANK YOU SO MUCH for this hat. The simpliest gift sometimes makes the best gift of them all. I am really tickled by this and cannot stop smiling at it :-) )
Miguel, thank you my friend for such a wonderful surprise. I know you were only here for one day but to me, that is worth more because we made the best of the time we had together. It was truely indeed a memorable weekend for me. It felt like good old times when were together on the Aries going to conventions and manning the table together. The Aries will always hold a special place in my heart for she was my first baby and creation when I was her CEO. And that will never change even though I have the Raven now. The Aries and Raven will forever be linked together because of you and me. The Aries will be the big older sister ship to the Raven. As far as the Raven group, everyone here sure knows how to have fun no matter where we are. This Memorial Day weeked, it was Houston and Tulsa NOW OFF TO GALACTICON 4 for the Raven Battle Group!!!!
SO SAY WE ALL!!!!!

Fellow Colonials,
On behalf of the Battlestar Galactica Fan Club Leadership, I would just like to wish each and everyone of you, a very MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR! I know I am a day late but Christmas is all about love and family. So I was spending some time with my family ( husband and children ) . I have also been very busy with real life events at work. So, I have had a pretty busy year overall. But, I have not forgotten anyone here, my second family. I say second family because Fleet is Family. And we are a FAMILY here at the BFC.
It has been one hell of a good year here at the BFC. We have had a steady growth here at the fan club. And I am very please and happy about that. That would not have been made possible without the loyal and true fans of the show we all love, Battlestar Galactica. Fans continue to show their love for the show as I have seen at conventions I attend, media outlets I run across too etc...It is like the BSG Force inside us has awaken even more. ;-) :-) With that said, as BFC Vice President, I would like to personally thank all of you for a wonderful year and for all the support you guys have given the BFC.
Now, on another note. Most of you know, I am also known in the BSG Community and Science Fiction Community as a whole, as Raven Actual. The Year 2016 is something to watch out for when it comes to the BFC Flagship Chapter, as she will be revealing something big at the very first convention the group will be attending. And that is the All Con Convention. This will be a major symbol for the Raven Battle Group whom most of you know, launch her very first Gunstar Escort and was commissioned during Galacticon 4. The honor of officiating her commissioning was officiated by none other than Miss Luciana Carro, assisted by myself and Raven Marine NCOIC Paul "Iceworm" Oakley along with Raven Classic Series Cylon Command Centurion Member Timothy Riely. It was a memorable moment for the Gunstar Trireme Crew. And I have Miss Luciana Carro to thank for wholeheartedly for that honor. She truely is a class act for doing something like that and for the fans who where there to witness the little ceremony. :-) Luciana, thank you very much for that.
FROM MINE TO YOURS, MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU AND YOUR LOVE ONES! Be safe now and see you all in 2016 at a nearby convention. I would like to see as many of you attend a convention near you just for the fun of it. You just never know who you will run into ;-) :-) But for now, enjoy spending quality time with your family and love ones. Those moments are very precious and special! So Say We All!

Battlestar Raven-BFC-002
Commanding Officer
ATTENTION ALL RAVEN PERSONNEL, FAMILY AND FRIENDS,
I have been meaning to make this announcement but real life got in the way as usual.
I am sure a lot of you know by now that Colonel Keith"Leonidas" Ranson, was relieved off duty as the Raven CAG. But this is so in order for him to assume command of the Gunstar Trireme, as her new Commanding Officer. The Gustar Trireme is the Raven's first gunstar escort and the first gunstar commissioned here at the BFC. The OFFICIAL Change of Command took place by none other than Luciana Carro's table and was officiated by both her and myself. She was such a sweetheart for doing it with me and as such, an honor. I chose her since she was CAG both on the Pegasus and the Galactica so it is just fitting for her to relieved Colonel Keith "Leonidas" Ranson.
I like to promote from within first before I even consider bringing someone from the outside. I like to give people chances for growth. The individual that was recommended to me to take his place, is someone that came to the Raven from the Colonial Defense Forces a few years ago. He ask me if I would give him a chance to be a member and allow him to be an intrical part of the group. And I gave him the chance by appointing him as the Squadron Commander of The Flying Tigers. And he just did that what he promise me he was going to do. The Raven was still at the infancy stage and I just became her new Commanding Officer when I first encountered "Reamer" at the BFC site. I was tasked by the President of the BFC, to turn her around and give her a new life and purpose. The first thing I did was to appoint new competent Command Staff members that will help me run the Raven properly. Then recruiting more members, came easily after that. And here we are, a couple years later, enjoying much success and having fun with each other. :-) But, we had to start somewhere. And that somewhere, was at the bottom and gradually, work our way up. The path to success and smooth sailing, was not an easy one for us. We had our own fair share of bumps along the road. That is why, we are a strong and tight knit family of friends because we are able to come together, when we need it the most. We never leave anyone behind and are always there for each other.
So, it is with great pleasure that I announce, that the new Raven CAG is none other than Major Roger "Reamer"Barstow. May the Lords of Kobol guide you to success,as you take on this new responsibility and position.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)

BSGUK Sent a Raptor to Nottingham. Chief Cocking displayed his awesome fleet models.
This was a very busy show last year and had moved to a bigger venue this time.
Marines reported "Area searched no trace of Cylons resuming patrol over "
The "modern' Galacticon (or at least in the form we know it now) was kicked off in Los Angeles in 2003...Richard Hatch & team put that together to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Battlestar Galactica.
(I have had the good fortune to be on that team and every subsequent Galacticon since!).
Galacticon is of course is an indirect descendent of the "Yahren" Cons that happened every 5 years previously...so you have an idea of the lineage and connections to past events.
2008 saw the venue moved to the high seas...with Rex Mundi Productions LLC taking over the helm...with Galacticon II: Galacticruise & of course with Emissaries: Galacticon III in Houston.
Well any Convention is built on many things, not least it's guest list and to give all an idea of the who's who of Galacticon....
To keep it simple I'll feature a guests picture(s), name, show, character(s) name and Galacticon appearance.
For brevity's sake....and my fingers!....Galacticon (Los Angeles) becomes G1, Galacticruise becomes G2 & of course so on...
Also for the sake of my digits, Battlestar Galactica original series is BSG TOS...Reimagined is BSG RIS.
Also note that a lot of these folks made or will make repeat appearances so they are only pictured once, with the credit.
Also, for actors/actresses that appeared as guest stars, for the sake (again) of my digits, only the shows themselves will be noted, not the episodes (you can look them up!...lot more fun that way)...also to note considering the above note on abbreviation: Caprica is Caprica, Galactica 1980 is Galactica 1980 (easy!)...and if you will refer to the note below, any non BSG actors will have their show noted.
There will be but one credit per actor (except in the notable case of Richard Hatch and a few others)...way too many to list if it got down into that kind of detail AND if we are talking writers, producers, effects...well, it will be noted.
Before I begin I would like to add that NO Galacticon has ever...never been exclusively Battlestar Galactica...ain't that a kick in the pants...but true, each successive show has featured guest(s) from other shows as well....but I guess you wouldn't know till you saw the (almost) complete list!
Any omissions, mistakes or any other sort of errors on this list are my own...just noting that (unless of course any reference material was boo-booed in some way!).
Shall we begin?
Wheeee....!

Hello Colonials!
I bid you a good day or evening...depending on when you read this!
Though it took a little playing catch up, with these two Hero awards we are now currently up to date with them.
Without further ado, (and with all thanks to the Battlestar Wiki in this regard)...our TWO newest Hero's!).
Arlene Martel is an American actress whose TV career stretches as early as 1958, starring in many popular (now considered "classic") shows such as Death Valley Days,' The Twilight Zone, Bewitched, and Columbo.
Many science fiction fans may remember Ms. Martel best as the betrothed, scheming Vulcan wife of Mr. Spock, T'Pring, in the episode "Amok Time" from the original Star Trek series.
Ms. Martel guest-starred as Adulteress 58 in the Original Series episode, "The Long Patrol."
Larry Cedar is the actor who played Cadet Shields in the Original Series episode, "The Gun on Ice Planet Zero, Part I".
His work in the Star Trek franchise includes the roles of Nydrom in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine's "Armageddon Game", Jal Tersa in Star Trek: Voyager's "Alliances", and Tessic in Star Trek: Enterprise's "Marauders".
He has also appeared in Stargate SG-1 as Prior #2 in the Brad Turner-directed episode, "Origin".
Now you may wonder WHY I called this message "Dinner with a friend"...well, let me tell you (and from personal experience too!)...conventions are a GREAT way to bond and find fellowship while you break bread with someone...over the years I've had some very interesting dinner companions in the atmosphere of conventions...some famous, some not...but ALL were people I would sit down to dinner with again.
For instance, the aforementioned Arlene Martel....yup, I had lunch with T'Pring!
Last year as matter of fact...actually with Arlene, Richard Hatch, Kate Vernon & her Personal Assistant Lynda King...NOW don't get me wrong, I'm not personally boasting about who I have meals with, have had or will have...I AM trying to say that YOU all have (when you go to a Con) the opportunity to do the same...in this case share a table with fellow fans (and friends) & some of those people you see on television or film.
There is also Sci-Con in beautiful Tampa Florida...and I AM looking forward to spending some time in Florida for this one!
Something a little different...though not a Con but an acting workshop is Columbia Gorge Acting Intensive
later this year...
Of course the big Kahuna in all this is of course Galacticon IV
The biggest Battlestar Galactica event at any time....and while next years event will include guests from other shows...the overriding premise is based upon Battlestar Galactica and it's stars...and OF COURSE I will be at this one!
So get out there and have dinner!
Bon Appetit!

Colonials...we are getting closer and closer to the big event, something I consider to be one of the biggest events in Battlestar Galactica history.
Sure, there have been other Cons...but this isn't just a Con...this is an EVENT (you notice I said that twice right?).
Never before as the cast of the original & the re-imagined series come together like this before in this way for starters.
Imagine Terry Carter & Michael Hogan standing next to each other...likely to make you tongue tighed!
Seriously, most people think it's simply going in...getting an autograph and that's it...it is NOT!
Galacticon 3 is a multi-level event (see now I mentioned it a third time!)...that is going to blow you away...interactive events...panels...workshops...and other happenings all day (and night).
By partnering with ComicPalooza we have opened up a whole new universe for you to be in as well...your entry into our world gives you automatic entry into theirs as well.
Who wants to miss out on a three-day party with your favorite people?
And I don't mean just the celebrities...but people that you know you are going to know there.
Our pre-sales come to end this coming Monday...yes, you CAN buy your membership at the door, but the price is going up from our current price to $99 for a weekend membershp...which is still very good. $16.50 per day for TWO covnentions?
Don't have to be a rocket scientist for that (well, Dr. Kevin Grazier is going to be there...and he REALLY is a rocket scientist!)...but all that aside...
Galacticon's literally happen only once every five years...so this is your big chance till another 50% of a decade creeps by....
Personally, I'm overjoyed to be a part of this...to be one of the people bringing this event you...and I'm delighted with the fact that so many of my friends are going together under the same roof...feels like home.
We want to see you there!
Give it some thought if you are on the fence...some serious thought...and roll the hard six and bring in the cat.
Time to spool up the FTL and make YOUR way the show!
So Say We All!

Hello Colonials,
You will all note that I just posted a trailer from the film "Titanic".
Today marks the 100th Anniversary of course of the day that the ship struck an iceberg in the North Atlanic...NOT however the 100th Anniversary of the sinking (technically)...the actual collision happened late in the evening of April 14th 1912...the ship itself sank in the early morning hours of April 15th.
A little later in the day to add to the tribute for Titanic I will post the full-length version of James Cameron's "Ghosts of the Abyss" in HD.
Very informative & very interesting...
