Raven Members and Friends,

I just wanted to quickly take my time here to wish each and everyone of you a Happy New Year.  I know it is not quite there yet but it is fast approaching.  Pretty soon, it will the Year 2013.  Looking back the Year 2012, it was a good year for the Raven as she continues to grow and succeed.  With all of her loyal crew's help and support, the Year 2013 will also be the Year of the Raven. 

Battlestar Raven will resume normal operations on 2 January 2013.  And to all my crew on the Raven, be safe out there during the New Year celebration.  Have fun but stay out of trouble.  I want all of you back safely on the Raven when it resumes its normal operation.  THAT IS ALL!

Procrastinate more.

Do less laundry use more deodorant.

Save the environment by conserving water...Bathing, shaving, and personal grooming are far over rated anyway.  Use more Cologne.

Spend less time in the past and more time worrying about the future.

Stop thinking up new, creative, secure passwords, and stick with "Password."

Refuse to read manuals, just wing it on my own. Don't worry about spare parts.

Don't ask for directions or advice.

When in doubt, ask my self what Homer Simpson would do.

WISE ADVICE FOR MAKING NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS:

It is a well known fact that nearly all New Years resolutions are broken almost immediately after New Years is over.  For this reason, I suggest that everybody firmly resolve the exact polar opposite of what their desired outcome and personal accomplishments for the coming year are.  By doing this, you virtually assure the year will go as you wished when you break your resolutions, and...if not, you can always glibly claim credit for remaining faithful to your word, and with great discipline and resolve, carrying out your New Years resolution, unlike some OTHER people you know!  It's a win-win situation! 

Sooooo...Let us all resolve to become lazy, unmotivated, unpopular, gluttonous, grotesque, bugger picking, knuckle dragging trolls, completely lacking in personal hygiene and sex appeal, and maybe even a vow of poverty may be in order.  This way we will all either be well disciplined, highly motivated, successful, driven, attractive, and possibly even wealthy successes in life, or, we will be able to rightly point out how well we did indeed carry out our New Years resolution.

Hello and Merry JesuYahren (Christmas) to all...

First things first...  Ever have one of those weeks where nothing seems to go quite right?  The last TWO weeks have been that way for me.  First, the shift changes at work... no holiday pay/bonus... Then my laptop crashes... my dog is attacked by a stray in the neighborhood... and to top it all off, the book I sent my baby sister for Christmas had pages cut up and/or ripped out of it (I never knew it).  Happy frakkin' holidays to me. :-/  

On a lighter note... I'm back (now that my lappy works again).  Going to try to be here a bit more often... but, as with life, there are no guarantees on that. Joining Battlestar Raven today... I hope I'm found worthy of the assignment.  Here's hoping that all of you have a safe, healthy, and Happy Holiday season.  May the Lords of Kobol bless and keep you all.

Go Loaded For Bear! There's been lots of controversy and it will continue after the recent school shootings. I for one am not fooled into believing that disarming victims is a good alternative, but I also realize that many do not agree. Rather than argue, I offer a viable and reasonable solution for all...in schools or at work, or anywhere...AND...this is something you can actually carry with you without fear of getting in trouble with the authorities. It also fits on a belt or in a purse just like a cell phone, so it need not draw unwanted attention. Just let your shirt or jacket drape over it casually and go about your life as normal, but ready for any bad guys just in case...It's not lethal, so you won't hesitate to use it if the need arises.

Crew of Battlestar Raven and Friends,

I am going to keep this short, simple and to the point.  I just wanted to quickly take my time to wish each and everyone of you and your family, Happy Holidays.  As the Year 2012 comes to an end and the Year 2013 approaches, looking back at what we all have accomplished together on the Raven since the Change of Command took place this past August 1^st, 2012, each and everyone of you have a lot to be proud off on the Raven.  Your hard work paid off and help the Raven get to where she is now and leading by example as the BFC Flagship Chapter.  I personally could not have done it on my own without your support.  So for that, I thank all of you especially my Executive Officer on the Raven, Major Al "Old Hickory" Bartraw.

It has been a pleasure serving as your new Commander and hopefully I will see most of you next year at Galacticon 3.  At this point, all Raven Crew are hereby ordered to  a STAND-DOWN!.  Use this time to spend some quality time with your family and love ones or however you spend your holidays.  Come next year, business will resume again on the Raven and it will be in full swing in preparation for Galacticon 3.  A lot of new things will be taking place not only on the Raven, but the building and growth of the young  BFC Fleet.   I also encourage all Raven Members and friends, to share your holiday photos if you want too, as a way of helping spreading the holiday cheer  to your fellow crew members and friends all around the globe.  You can either share your photos on the Raven website at:

Christmas may be postponed or even canceled due to a catastrophic mid air collision between Santa's sleigh and an Air Force fighter.  Cylon Raiders were reportedly attempting to shoot down Santa's sleigh when the US Air Force responded.  All raiders were destroyed or chased from the scene, but Santa's sleigh and one fighter colided.

Hello Colonials,

Tonight with our Battlestar Galactica Hero award, we are also going to make a special dedication.

Firstly, in light of the tragedy that befell so many people this past Friday in Newtown CT...I thought best to wait a few days before making tonights presentation in respect.

I like so many others am proundfoundly shocked by what happened and mourn the loss of so many to needless, mindless violence.

I salute President Obama and the American people...actually people from all over the globe ....for the support they have lent to the families in grief and in need of support.

From all across the land...and from places far away...the flowers left by the Russians at the American embassy in Moscow to the the crosses set up in memory in Rio de Janeiro...these are people coming together and doing what they can to show that they do care and not all the world is a bad place, even though sometimes it seems that way.

It is important to say a prayer for the dead, but even now more important to say a prayer for the living.

Please all reflect on this and hold your family & your friends closer, keep them in your heart and mind...all the people on this earth of ours has someone who cares, make sure that someone knows it.

Battlestar's Atlantia, Titan & Raven are hereby ordered to run lights at 50% till Monday December 24th.

Of course my friends this Friday is December 21 2012...the "long awaited" day of the Mayan calendar...before all of you start running for the cellar or appointed safe area....I will assure you that the end of the world isn't coming...no zombie apocaclypse, no rogue planet striking our lovely globe and most assuredly the sun will NOT go nova nor will the poles flip.

We are...by Mayan reckoning at the end of 400 year cycle (as they calculated) and as a matter of fact this will mark the 13th cycle recorded by them...it is called the b'ak'tun...so hopefully you will all have a great b'ak'tun and don't drink yourselves silly in the process that night (even though you can sleep it off on Saturday!).

To the Hero award....we have honored many people over the course of the year so far...and every person has richly deserved the recognition....the next person most deservedly so....he began as a radio personality in Canada with a most distinctive voice...and made his way into Hollywood history.....known before Battlestar Galactica as the patriarch of the Cartwright Family on the Ponderosa....tonight Lorne Greene is the Hero of Battlestar Galactica and we dedicate the award to his memory!

To celebrate the spun cycle of the Mayan Calendar and the presumed cracking of the Earth like an egg on the 21st...I've been invited to participate on the Chillpack Hollywood Hour hosted by Phil Leirness & Dean Haglund (you will probably remember him from the X-Files as one of the computer hackers that Agents Fox & Mulder got info from time to time & then onto the Lone Gunman series)...and special co-host & friend Director Ilana Rein.

Good Evening Raven Crew!

How is everybody this evening here at Battlestar Galactica Fan Club?  Just to let you guys know, that the Raven's first ever banner made, is arriving this week. It is 3 x 6 feet long. This will be the banner use at conventions where the Raven will be in attendance. It has a white background that contains this graphic that I included here. If you notice the background of this header, it is that of a mercury class battlestar with details on it. I cannot wait to see it and I hope it turned out okey.
