Back from the Dallas Comic-Con

Welp, I made it back from the con. we had a great time and all went very smooth, which is unusual for me. We arrived early because the convention center has really crappy parking so it's show up early, or walk a while. I am glad this is the last show at this civic center and they are moving to a larger location since the show has grown. I figured we would be in line forever for Olmos, but we timed it where we were some of the first in the door so we got to his table within twenty minutes of getting inside.Olmos was very fan-friendly and took a minute to talk to my five year old. we had him sign my viper and a card and took a photo with him. We then moved to luciana Carro's table and again got a lucky break since she was just setting-up and did not have a line yet. She remembered me from the other shows and the photo I had her sign of us together from a couple of years ago, she remembered seeing it posted on her fanboard. She signed the pic and we took off to the star Wars guys area and got a pic signed for a friend who could not make it.We went to the dealer room and found a few bargains. I found a Classic BSG colonial Pistol that I had been looking for and grabbed a new t-shirt so i could keep my wardrobe updated.later we went to the Olmos Q&A which was very interesting. he talked about turning down a roll as captain of the Enterprise, and talked about Blade Runner. He was not interested in doing BSG unless they put it in the world of Blade Runner. he said he felt BR was the ultimate sci-fi movie and the only way he would do sci-fi again was to revisit that type of world. He said that he told the BSG powers that be that he was outta there the first time they brought in some four-eyed space monster. he also had some interesting things to say about the worlds problems.we got some good pics and cool toys. here are a few pics.PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

The Chicago Comic-Con is now over!

The Chicago Comic-Con 2010 has wrapped up, and it was a wonderful experience! I attended all 4 days, and was able to spend a little bit of time with each of the the "Final Five" actors. They were all very gracious and personable people, a tremendous credit to the cylon race. OK, they are great humans too! Michael Hogan is definately the "life of the party" type person, while Michael Trucco and Kate Vernon really go out of thier way for the fans to make sure they speak to everyone. Rekha Sharma is a very personable person and will speak with you on a great many things.Unfortunately, Aaron Douglas could only spend Sunday with us because of scheduling conflicts - but he is just as great as the other 4. He made certain that I received a picture for the fancub that was taken at the Froggy booth of just the 5 of them (I will post later once I get it scanned). He spent time with every fan that walked up and always had a big grin on his face. Sunday was his only day off of his shooting schedule for the week, and he made sure to make it to the convention knowing he had to fly back out that night.I tried to take pictures of as many people I could find wearing BSG uniforms or t-shirts. At one point I was just standing by the entrance watching people file in - but since it took over 90 minutes for the line to file past when the floor opened on Saturday, I gave up after the first 30 minutes! Sorry if I missed anyone, I hope everyone that wanted to meet these wonderful actors was able to do so!

MRCP II MADE EASY

i STUMBLED ON THIS BOOK AND IT IS WRITTEN BY A HARVARD TRAINED PHYSICIAN WHO ALSO HAS AN INTEREST IN SILICON NANO LIFE FORMS AND ITS APPLICATION FOR A CURE OF CANCER. HE IS ALSO A MEMBER OF THE ROYAL COLLEGE OF PHYSICIANS OF LONDON ( MRCP ). IT EXPLAINED MANY IDEAS ABOUT THIS REVOLUTIONARY TECHNIQUE SUCH AS THAT USED TO CURE THE PRESIDENT AND INTERLACES MODERN MEDICINE WITH STORIES FROM SHERLOCK HOLMES. IN FACT, THE BOOK BELIEVES THAT CYLONS AND TRANSFER OF CONSCIOUSNESS WILL SOON BE A REALITY. MY WIFE AND SON LOVES IT AND IT ALSO ADDS AN ELEMENT OF REALITY TO THE GREATEST SCIENCE FICTION SERIES I HAVE EVER SEEN.
