When Ronald D. Moore Decided To Do The Re-Imagining Of BSG, He Chose To Base It On Greek,Rather Than Egyptian Mythology,As TOS Was Based On; He Chose Well, As The Historical Greek Battles Are More Known Than Those Of Ancient Egypt; And, There Are Suprising Parallels To The 12 Colonies, And The Greek City-States:
In The Ancient Greek World, There were Just A Collection Of City-States, Not A United Country; The Largest Of These Were Athens,And Sparta; The Twelve Colonies Were Not United At First, The Biggest Players Were Caprica,And Tauron.
The Twelve Colonies Did Not unite As a Single government Until Mid-way Through the First Cylon War; The Greek City-States Did Not Unite Until The Persian Invasion.
In Both Cases, Both Greece And The Twelve Colonies Suffered Many Dead, And Loss Of Territory; However, Both Were Able To Turn The Tide, And Turn Back The Invaders.
In Seeing The Films '300', And Soon, '300: Rise Of an Empire' , There Are A Lot Of Things That Can Be Taken Into The BSG-RDM World; Including, A Defector: As Baltar Unwittingly Aided The Cylons, The Hero Of The Battle Of Artemisium , The Athenian General Themistocles Would Later Defect To The Persian Empire(According To Wikipedia), Even Though He Is Still A Hero In Greece,Equal To that Of Leonidas Of Sparta.
And The Persian Forces Boasted Vast Numbers, As Did the Cylons.
So, For Those Of Us Going To See This Film, We Intend To Seize Our Glory:So Say we All!

That Would Be Great; But The Only Thing Is, My Historical Counterpart Literally Loses His Head! However, The Rest Of The Greek City -States Unite To Avenge Him, Which Is Awesome!
300 was a great film and the squeal is sure to be as good. I can't wait to see Leonidas and his men come back to life and kick some Persian butt!!!!!
