Moebius Models PEGASUS

Ever Since My Local Hobby Shop Told Me That Moebius Was Actually Going To Do A Pegasus Kit To Go Along With The Galactica, And Viper Kits, I Have Been Sitting On Pins And Needles In Anticipation! The First Word About The Release Date Was About Now; Then, September; Now, It looks like Late This Year, Along With The Much-Delayed Cylon Centurion.

Now,Lo and Behold, On Moebius' Facebook Page, The Line Drawings Are Out! And, They Look Good! So, I Really Don't Want To Think About The Reasons(Or The Rumors) Why This Kit Was Delayed; I Just Want Mine. And, Since My Ship,The Raven, Is Of The Same Class, Hopefully, JT Graphics, Or Some Other Decal Company, Can Provide Custom Names.

Now, Let's All Pray To The Lords Of Kobol That A Raptor, A Heavy Raider, Some More Battlestar Designs, A Cylon Base Star, And Maybe a Classic Centurion Will Be Forthcoming.

Oh, Did I Forget To Mention That Moebius Is Re-Doing The CLASSIC BSG Ships Also? I Know That Will Whet A Few Appetites!

  •  Reamer,

Seriously, The TOS Kits Were originally MONOGRAM Kits Released Around The Time the series Premeired on TV. About 15 Years Ago,Revell(USA) And Monogram Merged Into Revell-Monogram; All of Monogram's Original kits Were Re-Released Under That Name,Including The BSG Kits. Every Now And Then,Revell Germany Will release A Kit That was Put out by another Manufacturer Under The Revell Name. So, I Must Maintain that These Are MOEBIUS Molds In a Revell Box. You Will see that I'm Right.

  • Leonidas,

Revell made the kits for BSG TOS and I'm willing to believe that the TNS kits are made by them and not Moebius. Wouldn’t it be nice to see competition between the two companies’s? There is a lot of money to be made especially due to Blood and Chrome. Maybe Revell will beat Moebius and come out with a Raptor and the Heavy Raider that all of us want soooooo much! ! ! ! ! ! !

I'll look around to see if I can find any reviews for the mentioned kits and I'll get back to you.

  •  Really? Chances are, These Are Moebius Kits Re-Boxed For Revell . They Have done that Many Times With other Companies' Models.

  • Leonidas,

Have you noticed that Revell is making both the Mk II and Mk VII Vipers and also the TNS Galactica. They are coming out of the UK and I'm not sure where the kits are actually being produced. I see a lot of them for sale on E-bay. I wonder how they compare to the Moebius kits? Nothing like two company's duking it out for thier share of the BSG fan base.

  • Okay, this is what I've found so far.

  • Actually, I was Referring To The TOS Pegasus. I Know All Battlestars In The New BSG Have Them.

  • Hmmm…Interesting question…Here’s my spin…This is a list of the Mercury Class Battlestar (Pegas) Armaments, etc.

     http://en.battlestarwiki.org/wiki/Mercury_class_battlestar

It says they had SOME missiles, but does not specify how many.  It is PROBABLE if not CERTAIN that if ANY battlestars had missiles and nukes this sucker did!!!!  (Unless Cain used them up already, depending on when you’re asking…As far as the original series goes, most all battlestars were the same, with a few minor differences.  We DID see the Galactica and I believe the Pegasus firing missiles at the Cylon Base Stars…Granted, they were more like the ICBM’s of the time period they were filmed in, but they DID have missiles.

Oh, and there’s also a possible secondary spin on this…IF memory serves, Commander Cain said something about engaging some sort of shields…Was this some sort of cloaking device that let them escape when they were damaged?  Hmmmmm…

Also, here’s this general info of weapon systems from the re-imagined series.
