Thank you for the Welcome. I too like both Starbucks. Along with the 6`s from the new series. Funny thing is I`m married to more or less a 6 in real life. Yes a very smart, good looking 6 foot tall blond that you don`t want to piss off. LOL Rob
Thanks! About 4 weekends to get most of it done. I used a fallen radio tower and lots of recycled/repurposed parts for it so I may have to redo them to make them more durable/lighter someday but it's big enough to get in at least so that's fun for now.
I'm not, I wasn't sure what to pick for that but it wanted something... I just meant I actually have my own viper: http://rob.emery.net/costumes/colonial%20viper%20pilot%20c.jpg I am in TCF though. I just popped in to say hi to George Metz - I got a few pics of him at DCon in a raider that I thought he might like (3D).
Hey Lt, thanks for the info. I pilot a Viper already. I'm on an extended range mission for the Galactica... just looking to make a few repairs before I head back. Might be nice to pop by the Excalibur for refuelling if it's ever in range though.
Bunny, congrats on your VNP, looks cool. Reamer does great art.
Reamer, that graphic on the flight position assignments is super. Finger four looks good. Looking for data on Viper and Raider combat tactics. Can you point me in the right direction.
Thanks for the letter. And going on a flight wing would be fun. I'd like to do so. Eventually I have friends coming and would like to have them on my squadron as well. Instead of the Flying Tigers can we make our own squad?
Thanks for the welcome message! But I think I'll just stay civilian. And if I did pick something, it would be the Marines. But since I did that already in RL, I think I'll stay a civilian for now. ;)
I love your biography. It's very similar to my own. My mom raised me on a steady diet of Star Trek, Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, and Planet of the Apes. My mom is just as big a fan if not more than I am. I've already started talking to her about going to Galacticon and she wants in.
Hello, Lieutenant. Thank you, Sir. It's a pleasure to
receive such a warmwelcome. This is the first time I've ever joined a fan
club, so I'm still
learning the ropes. I do like both the old and new
BSG, I just happen to
like the old BSG a little better. Still, perhaps you and
others here can
school me on the different occupations and how I
can update my status,
profile, etc. Until then, I hope I can make a
substantial contribution to
your message boards and your blogs. I look forward
to speaking more with
fellow fans of BSG new and old and perhaps
meeting with all of you someday
at an upcoming Galacticon. Please feel free to
contact me anytime and know
that I am a sincere admirer and a loyal fan o the
series. All the best to
you and your squadron, and may all of humanity
achieve peace in our
lifetime. So say we all.
Thanks for the great welcome, Roger, much appreciated. Just kinda sussing out the site at the moment. I'm interested in a lot of the techie/engineering/ship weaponry stuff about the Galatica as well as the history of the Colonial fleet prior to the Cylon sneak attack.
Thanks. I'm not sure where I want to go yet. Think I just want to check out first. It's not that I didn't like the new, just didn't really have time to get deep into it. The few I saw seemed really good.
happy to join your squad and I love Starbucks.....I have watched only the new BSG but Im thinking about watching the old one ,,,its the best show ever ...so im here to be the best viper ever
Thanks for the kind welcome. I've download the Viper Mark II training manual and begun giving it a go-through. I confess to being a little overwhelmed; this is my first fan club, you see. I'm the perfect age to be a BSG fan; I was 8 during the run of the original series, and used to audio tape the shows and listen to them over and over. Starbuck is my favorite character in both series for completely different reasons. In the original, Dirk Benedict's Starbuck is swashbuckling, and slightly roguish, and oozing with charisma (*swoon*). Katee Sackhoff's Starbuck is deep, complicated, uber-talented, oh, and also an angel. :-)
So, I guess my plan for now is to read through the Viper training manual and look around a bit. I was thinking that Blackstar squadron would be where I'd gravitate to (as I'd say I'm slightly more a fan of Classic than Reimagined), but I see that a requirement to join is to post a picture in costume, and I haven't jumped that far in yet (though, I could see getting a costume - I've wanted one of those amazing suede jackets since I was a little girl).

Much Appreciated. Cant wait to dig into the Piolt manuals over the weekend.
Aye; I decided to transfer over to minimize any future confusion on that score.
