"LEADING THE BSG UNIVERSE"
Raven Marine OIC- Brigadier Gen. Eduardo "Enforcer"
Raven Marine NCOIC- Master Gunnery Sergeat- Paul "Iceworm" Oakley
What is it like to be a Marine aboard the Raven you ask? I believe the General Orders that all new Marine Recruits have to know and memorize will tell it all.
-To take charge of this post and all BFC property in view
-To walk my post in a military manner, keeping always on the alert and observing everything that takes place within sight or hearing.
-To report all violations of orders I am instructed to enforce.
-To repeat all calls from posts more distant from the guardhouse than my own. IE: in the event of a COMM breakdown, all orders must be yelled or verbally given to the next sentry no matter the distance from the next post and so on...until the entire unit knows the same order issued.
-To quit my post only when properly relieved.
-To receive, obey and pass on to the sentry who relieves me all orders from the Executive Officer, Detachment commander, and officers, both commissioned and non-commissioned, of the guard only.
-To talk to no one except in the line of duty.
-To give the alarm in case of fire or disorder.
-To call the MarDet Commander or the XO in any case not covered by instructions.
-To salute all officers and all colors and standards not cased.
-To be especially watchful at all times, especially wartime, and to challenge all persons on or near my post and to allow no one to pass without proper authority.

Msgt., if you're forming a security detail in Officer Country or the sick bay for Actual, I'd like to be on it.
Well after figuring out how to work and find my around the this site, I am finally making my first post :-)
Don't worry, we have you back covered Major when it comes to the security of the CO!
Sgt. Benjamin "Zeus" B.
Thank you Msgt. Sardeson! The CO is under the weather according to INTEL so that is why security it tightened up for her own safety.
Paul, thanks, but it's a month late. Oh, you were talking to "Enforcer"....My bad.
Sorry, this Sailor loves his Navy, but yes, the Marine Corps/Navy team is an unbeatable force.
Heard it's a spectacular event, there will be one in Houston also. Betting on you in the discussion with Actual, Major. Happy Birthday to the finest sea-borne fighting force in the world. (Salutes)
Well played, Major, and I will wish you a Happy Birthday in advance. You're awesome, and nobody suspects that you're quickly approaching 238 years.
Corporal Oakley,
I was actually checking on the security details for Raven Actual and making sure she will be fit and alright to travel this coming Saturday to our Nations Capital for the Marine Corps Ball. Our CO can be very stubborn (what do you expect, she is Air Force) ;-) :-) But she is dealing with a Marine so she is going to have to listen ;-)
Works for me. The Unit reflects the Leader. OOHRAH!!!
And for Raven Actual's award, AWWWOOORRRHHHHH!!!!
Ahhhh that!
The AWWWOOORRRHHHHH is a personal preferences that I used to accompany at times when I say "OOHRAH!"
With in regards to "OOHRAH" There are stories behind where this phrase came from. 'OORAH or OOHRAH was actually a Comanche war cry that meant "Alright! Let's go!" especially when one is battle.
Legend has it this actually all started from a former Sgt. Major in the United States Marine Corps: John Massaro, while serving as company Gunnery Seargeant of 1st Amphibious Reconnaissance Battalion. While there, they simulated the "Dive" horn sound "AHUGA!" as part of the cadence. Legend has it, he took it with him when he went to serve as an instructor at the Drill Instructor School at Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego. It was there that it was passed on to the Drill Instructor students and they, in turn, passed it on to their recruits where it eventually and naturally became a part of the Recon cadence, and there after infiltrated Recon Marine lexicon. Over time, "AHUGA!" was transformed into the shorter, simpler "Oorah!" Present day, the official Marine Corps Training Reference Manual on the history of Marine Recon is titled "AHUGA!
On another note, I like to say "AWWOOORRRHHHHH " along with "OOHRAH" (regardless of how it is spelled) as a my own personal form of Marine enthusiasm along with some form of endearment to go with it. It is my way of showing someone off because of their accomplishment and or I am proud and happy for that person. :-)
