Ralph McQuarrie has passed away. he was best known for his work on the Star Wars concept art, but he also done the concept art for Battlestar Galactica and Buck Rogers.

Being a BG fan, along with me being a huge Star Wars fan, this was very sad news for me. He was an inspiration to a lot of artists. RIP, Ralph
We have lost an icon and a legend! He was best known for his concept art for STAR WARS, BSG:TOS, & BUCK ROGERS; but, he was also known for concept art to other materpieces such as Forbidden Planet,CE3K, E.T., Cocoon, and STAR TREK (Phase 2) to name a few. Also, he had a hand in the world of business where he lent his talent in the fields of aviation, computer games, book covers, and many other works. He will be sadly missed by all of us, BSG fans and otherwise.
So sad! Such a wonderful artist. May he rest in peace. :(
