Making nameplates

Saw a discussion in chat about how I did the nameplates...just a minor point was made, but I thought I would share the process so whoever wants to make their own will know how. I'll begin with the font. Major Barstow had advised me that he had found the font from Facebook. Found it, but when I tried to download it, just gave me a blank screen. Did an internet search and found a page called Fontstruct. Down the page you'll see a browse button. On the next page, do a search for a font called "Husker." (You'll have to create an account) Download it and you'll be ready to go. The CAG advised to use MS Word, but since I don't have it on this laptop, I went with Paint. Also, I've heard Photoshop or PowerPoint can be used, but Paint was simpler for me. However, Paint didn't have the octagon shape necessary for the border, so I used my first nameplate and erased the lettering and saved the border for a template. From there on it was a matter of sizing up the lettering and spacing and I was good to go...hope this helps!

ALSO!!! Remember, you won't have your permanent tail number assigned until you receive your scores and certification, be it Viper or Raptor, from Admiral Rivera. If you want to make a plate beforehand, check with your squad leader or Major Barstow about having a temporary tail number assigned.
