We have also been searching for a good set of Classic style boots for a long time. We are aware of the Motor Cowboy set, but they are just a bit out of the price range, when you have to buy 2 pair. Also, we have heard the wait can be quite long, and the fit has been off before.
We have found another model... not exact, but about as close as you can get without being actual Sidi Fullbores.
They do sell them in Black or Brown.

Sorry to hear the boots you got didn't fit. Same with me and the Norstars I bought. Plus with the personal stuf that hit me at the time, I just didn't need the hassle of searching for a boot shop to stretch the boots for me. But a few months ago I was on ebay and found someone selling a used pair of Sidi's which had the same cam buckles as the original show, but the front design of the boots was different. I bought it anyway and whoever had them had the same size calves as me. They fit pretty good. I just need to paint them now.
Well the boots I had ordered did not fit. Loved the look of them but I could not even get them zipped past my ankles much less my calves so I am therefore back on the hunt. Found a site that has the Norstar boots and I emailed them but have not heard back so wondering if they even have them anymore. Will try calling them. Meanwhile I keep checking on ebay for a pair of Sidi's. Looked at Motorcowboy but I just can't justify with as many costumes as I have spending that much on one item. Like to spread it around on many pieces as opposed to one. But then again the hunt is always my favorite part on a costume.
I feel so left out. Hehe.. Cool deal though that you got a good price.
Well I missed out on the Norstar boots at the really good price. There is a site that does carry them but I decided on going with a pair of the Icon Elsinore boots. Will know for certain once they arrive if they will work with my calves or not but the site I ordered them from does have a really good return policy. Sidi's are kind of skimpy though there are a pair or two showing up on Ebay but I am thinking I would rather invest in something new since worn might be cheaper you are also running into a possible problem with having someone's impression in the boot and might end up hurting the tootsies and feet. If the Icons prove not to work I'll return them go to the other site and get the Norstars. Only problem with tree trunk gorilla calves. Never can find a quality boot for a decent price.
I have to stretch the calf area of my boots. I think you pretty much have to with the boots when they are brand new. Unless you happen to get a used pair.
Since I am built more like Flight. Sgt. Jolly, any idea how these boots are running calf wise?
These are the boots I decided to go with for mine. Looks close and good price too. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Norstar-Trans-Am-boots-by-AXO-/261183665492...
The boots look pretty close to me and you can beat it when the SIDI are hard to find they rarely come up on Ebay. When they do its hit or miss with sizing obviously b/c you just never know. The following is a good alternative.
