BSG Toys

The original BSG was the closest thing to Star Wars on the TV for me back in the day.  Got to stay up late on a Sunday to watch it.  Good times.

So for my birthday I got a Viper and a Cylon ship.  I was stoked!

Now, each ship came with these little red plastic missiles that went in a spring loader and shot out when a button was pressed - 70s toy tech for a firing laser blast.

Problem is, this feature was later classified as a choking hazard and purchasers of the toys were asked to return them for "fixed" versions - no firing projectiles.

I, of course, did not do that.  Heck no!  These toys were the closest thing to a bb gun I would ever own, lol.  (My parents had a strict "no guns" policy.  Blik.)  Many a lined-up Centurion 'took one for the team' after carefully aiming my ships.

Anyone remember these toys?  Each ship came with a miniscule pilot, which got easily lost.

Wish I could get a hold of one today for nostalgia!
