Another elite figting unit of the Raven AirWing...Are you one of the best...Join the Flying Tigers......
Bio: The 1st American Volunteer Group (AVG) of the Chinese Air Forces in 1941–1942, famously nicknamed the Flying Tigers, was composed of pilots from the United States Army (USAAF), Navy (USN), and Marine Corps (USMC), recruited under presidential authority and commanded by Claire Lee Chennault. The ground crew and headquarters staff were likewise mostly recruited from the U.S. military, along with some civilians.

Pilots Of FLYING TIGERS SQUADRON,
I Would Like To Wish You Good Hunting On The Mission Tonight; I must Apologize For Not Being Able To Fly With You This Time; My Viper Is Undergoing Major Maintenance At This Time(And, My Real-World Job Is Trying To Suck More out of Me); I Know You Will Have The Lords Of Kobol Looking Over You; So Say we All!
Leonidas,CAG
Also, on a side note: interaction off of the Raven is a good way to get a bit more involved in the squadron & feel a little more at home with your fellow Tigers. If anyone isn't already friends with me here is my Facebook link: https://www.facebook.com/browncoat7981

I post a lot of Movie news stuff as films are 1 of my biggest passions. Look orward to meeting all of the new members!
Not to pour salt on an open wound, nuggets, but to echo the Lt's & Hitman's words: Being a Tiger means more than just being a Viper jock. We're a family. We fight & bleed together. We aim to kill as many of those shiny, toaster-looking frakkers as we can. We've got a Top Guns a plenty here. We take this job very seriously......& have a serious amount of fun doing it. Just remember: scrapping Cylons is priority 1, but don't forget to have fun doing it.
8-24-2013 Tomorrow Nights Mission Briefing
“Attention” Flying Tiger’s “Attention”
Our new pilots have completed their simulator training. They are ready to climb into a Viper cockpit for the first time to complete their training and earn their wings.
We will form into our individual flights first in Diamond formations and then Delta formations to perform precision flying maneuvers.
It’s very important for a Viper squadron to continue to hone its skills until we become as Admiral Cain put it, “Razors.” It has been said, there is safety in numbers. The Finger Four Formation flown by the Flying Tiger’s offers superior safety and fire power in combat as long as the formation sticks together.
We will practice until it becomes second nature as if we were one!!!
Any Questions?
Skids up in fifteen on the starboard flight deck.
Dismissed!!!!
“Attention” Flying Tiger’s
This is the back story of our mission tomorrow night. The message exceeds the length allowed so it’s being posted in two parts. Please read part 2 just below this message.
Our squadron has grown to 19 pilots of which 10 have earned their wings. In the beginning, missions were flown only by pilots with wings. I decided that it’s better to allow everyone wings or not to get involved. An active member is a happy member.
The mission Saturday night will be squadron maneuvers. We will form up in our individual flights in Diamond formations and then Delta Formations to perform precision flying maneuvers. These two formations are flown by the Blue Angles during all of their air shows. The four and six plane formations are a perfect fit for our Viper squadrons aboard the Raven. I added a few images so you get the idea of what the Diamond and Delta formations look like.
It’s very important for a Viper squadron to continue to hone its skills until we become as Admiral Kane put it, “Razors.” It has been said, there is safety in numbers. The standard formation flown by the Flying Tiger’s offers superior safety and fire power in combat as long as the formation sticks together.
This is the second half of the message:
Our new pilots have completed their simulator training and they are now ready to climb into the cockpit of a real Viper to log flight time before they earn their wings. The same thing was done in season 1 episode 4 Act of Contrition of the RMD BSG. Starbuck took the nuggets out to practice their flying skills and the Cylons showed up on the scene. Starbuck ordered all of them back to the Galactica but Hotdog turned back to fly as her wingman during the battle and claimed his first Cylon kill.
The same thing will happen during our mission on Saturday night. The only difference will be that no one will turn away; we all will attack the Cylons together!!!!!!!
When our mission is interrupted by the Cylons, the Extermination/Re-cycling segment of the mission will begin.
The mission will be performed in the Forum Chat area on the home page of the BFC at 10:PM EST tomorrow night.
Everyone is welcome!!!!!!
Welcome to Squadron SnakeEyes
