I have an interesting question. I was talking with someone at work today and he heard a theory from someone about BSG and Firefly. He asked me if I had heard this and I have not, so I thought I would post here and see if anyone has heard of this and possibly has a link they could share. So here is the theory.
The planets that make up the Alliance in Firefly are the original 12 Colonies of Kobol. The theory goes something like this. We hear (in the re-imagined series) that the human race left the original 12 Colonies of Kobal to escape the system to avoid either a civil war or a war started by a rogue sect of humans I am not sure if it is fully explained. Then of course fast forward many many years later and we have the Re-imaged BSG series. So how does this connect together? From what we were talking about in Firefly it is finally reveled in the movie Serenity that the Revers were created from a government experiment gone wrong on the planet Miranda and the Revers are created.
So is it that a sect of humans fled the colonies in the Firefly universe because of the Revers and or as a rebellion against the government, and they settled on the 12 Colonies of the Re-imagined BSG universe, and is "Earth" really the planet Miranda that is reveled in the Firefly universe?
I think this is an interesting theory and I could see how it could work (yes we all remember the Firefly class ship easter egg in the re-imagined series) But more than anything I hope this drives a fun and creative discussion. Also if anyone actually knows of this theory and/or can share the site with it I would love to read it.
