Welcome to the Battlestar Gun Crews!
This is the group for the big guns, our duty is to provide our brave pilots with the heavy fire support they need. After all - somebody has to shoot these toasters out of the sky!
To get this group started, we are always looking for new recruits with the ambition to serve as gunners, as well as partaking in maneuvers, operations and the day-to-day life of the humble crew of Battlestar Raven.
Activities in this group will first and foremost include two things:
1. Preparations for Operations in conjunction with Battlestar Ravens Squadrons and Leadership
The fleet needs us! To keep this group going, we need to be able to partake in Operations and add activity to the Fanclub as a whole.
2. Discussion and establishment of a Battlestar Armament Operational Manual
Members of the club are familiar with the wonderful operational manuals provided by the Colonial Defense Forces.
While we cannot hope to reach that level of sophistication right off the start, it will be worthwhile to discuss ideas about how the gun crews operate, what life looks like as a gunner and what activities may arise from these concepts.
New content for the Battlestar Gun Crews will be provided shortly, and new updates are to follow as regularly.
With that, we hope to make this group a thriving new part of the Battlestar Fan Club.
So Say We All,
Alexander Falkberg

A vital part at that! As with all things in the battlegroup, the whole is stronger than the sum of its parts. The Battlestar Gun Crews will gladly welcome any reinforcements from Gunstar Trireme, as well as lending the firepower of our turrets to any operations conducted by your formidable ship!
The favor of Artemis is with us - So Say We All!
We'll be honored to have you by our side, Trireme :)
Looking fantastic everyone. We'll leave a few toasters for you!
These are awesome, Colonel! I love the work you put into this!
I would recommend though giving the central turrets their specific pre-callsign as well. What I mean is, if in the heat of battle you call "Alpha 3, switch targets" (or something similar), the message might be disrupted a bit due to combat chatter and comms cracking. So it might turn out unclear whether you mean the main turret, the port one or starboard one.
So, e.g. "Alpha central 3" would make it more clear even with battle noise. Or you could give a thought to switch the calling convention to "Central Alpha 3" and such, it might be my personal preference but it seems to roll off the tongue a little bit easier.
But don't get me wrong, these are just my personal opinions and I don't want to downgrade you work :)
Also, I'm glad to see a new face in the group, welcome aboard, Ensign Foshaug!
There's enough frakkin toasters for everyone I hope! Let's make sure we make some serious fireworks!
Absolutely amazing detail! I will have to look into pictures of Battlestar Raven and other Mercury Class Vessels to designate all turrets specifically as well.
Ideally, our goal would be to have the Gun Crews work similar to squadrons during ops: The Fire Directions Center (FDC) directs the gun teams similar to how a squadron leader would take charge of a squadron and gun crews man designated turrets.
We will open a FDC thread "plotting room" soon to go into specifics about that.
Well, If you look closely,Some are marked Alpha port or Alpha starboard, with corresponding numbers; So, there should be no confusion there.

Yh, I know and I noticed. What I meant where the turrets in the middle of the ship. They are labeled just as "Alpha". This is where my point was coming from. :)

My point is, if it's not IDd as 'Alpha port' or 'alpha starboard' then it's the central turrets;Same with the zulu turrets.
Ideally, I'd like to add schematics of the Battlestar Raven later, that include all weaponry and divide the batteries into Battery Detachments, too! When that time comes, it would be great to get advice on how these things are treated in general and during operations so far. After all, communication is key during operations for all units of the Colonial Fleet!
