I would like to change our Raptor number assignments to match our assigned tail numbers, mainly to avoid any confusion that may pop up down the road. If we're all in agreement, I'll get to work on the change.

I Would make sure that this will Be OK with your CAG and Raven Actual; They Also Keep Records of Pilots and their Tail Numbers; To make a Major Change in an Already Established ID System Needs Approval and Support from the Top of the Chain of Command.
Colonel, I discussed this a few months ago with the CAG and he seemed OK with it, I just didnt follow through with it at the time. I alse emailed him a squadron status report earlier and one of my topics of discussion was this subject.

OK, Just making sure; I put Forth the System when the Squadron was Established,Based on Canon; I have No problems with Change.
Sir, if I may interject?
Viper tail numbers are generally four digits followed by NC The NC may be specific to a single battlestar, or it may be just the lot of the squad that Galactica had. The four digits may be anything, eg a squad of four vipers may have 2846NC, 2745NC, 9657NC, and 1111NC. Raptors have no specified system of naming like this, and during the Cylon war we have vipers like Niner-Zero-Niner, and in the 2003 show raptors are designated with any number 1-9999. Shown on the show are raptors ranging from 2 to 1029 with no difference between regular and assault types.
That's just my two cents, Sirs.
The CDF system was used for convienence and to manage many different fleets, I mean we could break it down as R1123OH to mean Battlestar Group One, Raptor 123 or Viper 123NC, and OH in place of NC because we have different vipers and OH just because that's where I live. R1 or whatever could be replaced with whatever the actual battlestar group is (For Raven it would be more like R(for raven) 2 (Raven's ID) (pilot Number) State for vipers, so R2111OH would be a Viper assigned to the Battlestar Raven with the DRADIS ID of 111 and the tail designation of 111OH
Again,As Long as it's OK with you Reamer, and if Raven Actual has no Objections, Then It's all Good; When I established the System,It was out of Simplicity; and, when I mentioned 'Canon',I recall during the RDM Series, Raptors were ID'd with A Three-Digit Number,So, I Numbered the Raven Raptors Accordingly(I will be Using that Same System on the Trireme); But, If Change is Warranted,SSWA.
