I'm glad to be of service to all the Battlestar Raven members, especially the pilots since I'm the Ravens current CAG.
One thing I didn't mention is that all pilots start out at the rank of Ensign and can progress up the ladder of rank depending on your participation here and at any of the online Battlestar Raven sites such as Facebook.
Please add ENS. in front of your name and determine what your call sign will be and please add it to your name as well.
I don't want to discourage you at the start, but I do want you to know that the majority of our members are more active at Comic Cons and online. The BFC is a great place to be a member. Our core members that are very active at this site can help you with anything you need to know and we are like a family.
I will send you a friend request so I can dump even more information on you!!! Have a great day!
Welcome aboard the Raven, Fellsy! Please take the time to look around the site and familiarize yourself with all the club has to offer. There are many various groups within the club as well to suit most everyone's interests. I see your interest is in becoming a Viper pilot. The Raven has six Viper squadrons as well as one Raptor squadron...all in need of dedicated pilots. If you would like to fly with the elite, you may want to consider trying your hand at the Raptor and joining The Seekers, of which I am squadron commander. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. I hope your stay aboard is a great one!
Another bit of information to you is that you will find posted in each Viper squadron the training manuals for the Viper, Raptor and CDF OP's. You can read through them and take an open book exam at the end of each manual to earn your Viper/Raptor wings. The CDF OP's training will earn you a certificate of completion. I recommend to all our pilots to take advantage of these training manuals because they're packed with very interesting and useful information about BSG.
Most squadrons have more than one page in their Discussion Forum. If you don't see the CDF OP's discussion click on view all and scroll through the pages to find it.
Welcome aboard the Battlestar Raven Fellsy, it's great to have you join our crew!!!
I see your favorite BSG character is Starbuck. I’m a fan of everything concerning Battlestar Galactica. Being a Viper Pilot, my favorite character is Starbuck from both the Original and Re-imagined BSG. From a man’s point of view, when it comes to Cylon skin jobs, I’m partial to the 6’s and the 8’s.
At the present time Perseus, Spartan, Hammer, Minotaur, Flying Tigers and the Seekers squadron are looking for more pilots.
I’m Major Reamer, Battlestar Ravens CAG and squadron leader of the Flying Tigers. The Raven Airwing is always looking for a few more Viper pilots to join the group.
Battlestar Raven has become a Battle Group with the addition of the Gunstar Trireme. Gunstar Trireme under the Command of Col Leonidas is looking for crew members as well. Take a look at this link if you’re interested in joining the group: http://battlestarfanclub.com/group/gunstar-trireme-gsr-0201
If you decide flying a Viper isn’t for you, the Raven has many alternatives. You could join The Marines, Engineering, Security, Sick Bay and more. Take a look at the Ravens web site at this link: www.battlestarraven-bfc-002.com Click on Ship Departments to see everything the Raven has to offer; you’ll be glad you did!!!!! The choice is entirely up to you. The site is under construction, but you can see all the Raven has to offer.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me anytime here at the BFC.
