I am also a BSG fan since 1978. I was 18 back then and I never missed a single episode. I was crushed like everyone else when the show was cancelled and I also share the same dis-like for Galactica 1980. The only good episode from the failed 1980 come back was the last episode showing Starbuck stranded and not being able to make it back to the Galactica.
Actually, the Viper, Raptor and the CFD OP's training manuals can be found in each squadrons discussion section. Anyone who joins the Raven as a pilot doesn't have to pass the Viper/Raptor exams before they join one of the Ravens squadrons.
Even after joining the squadron of your preference, taking the exams are not mandatory. If you want to advance in rank, taking the specific exam is highly recommended.
Good to welcome a new Viper jock! I fly with the 611th FS "Perseus", but we are short of active pilots. The easiest way to download the Viper pilot's manual is to search "colonial defence forces Viper training manual". This is in PDF format, best of luck with the test!
Welcome aboard the Battlestar Raven Randy, it's great to have you join our crew!!!
I see your favorite BSG character is Starbuck. I’m a fan of everything concerning Battlestar Galactica. Being a Viper Pilot, my favorite character is Starbuck from both the Original and Re-imagined BSG. From a man’s point of view, when it comes to Cylon skin jobs, I’m partial to the 6’s and the 8’s.
I see you’re interested in becoming a Viper pilot. The Battlestar Raven is the place to be. Currently we have one Raptor and six Viper squadrons aboard the Raven. You can check them all out along with the other opportunities aboard the Battlestar Raven using this link: http://battlestarfanclub.com/groups/group/listByLocation?location=Battlestar+Raven
At the present time Perseus, Spartan, Hammer, Minotaur, Blue squadron, Flying Tigers and the Seekers squadron are looking for more pilots.
I’m Major Reamer, Battlestar Ravens CAG and squadron leader of the Flying Tigers. The Raven Airwing is always looking for a few more Viper pilots to join the group.
Battlestar Raven has become a Battle Group with the addition of the Gunstar Trireme. Gunstar Trireme under the Command of Col Leonidas is looking for crew members as well. Take a look at this link if you’re interested in joining the group: http://battlestarfanclub.com/group/gunstar-trireme-gsr-0201
If you decide flying a Viper isn’t for you, the Raven has many alternatives. You could join The Marines, Engineering, Security, Sick Bay and more. Take a look at the Ravens web site at this link: www.battlestarraven-bfc-002.com Click on Ship Departments to see everything the Raven has to offer; you’ll be glad you did!!!!! The choice is entirely up to you. Presently the site is under construction, but you can see all the departments the Raven has to offer.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me anytime here at the BFC.
Welcome to the Raven, Randy...I hope you will enjoy your stay! Please take the time to look around the site and familiarize yourself with all the club has to offer. I see you are interested in becoming a Viper Pilot. The Raven Air Wing has many distinguished Viper squadrons aboard, all needing good pilots on the stick. However, if you'd like to fly with one of the most elite, high profile squadrons in the fleet, take a look at The Seekers, the Raven's elite Raptor squadron:
I am Lt Michael "Mik Mo" Morelock, Squadron Commander of the Seekers. If you would like more information, please contact me. Remember, the main order of business aboard the Raven is to have fun! SO SAY WE ALL!!!
