Hi Paul,
Just click the Viper/Raptor Manuals link to find the manuals and how to submit exams. All exams are sent to the Fleet CAG Admiral Rivera.
Hi Paul,
Here's a link to the Viper and Raptor Manuals on my squadron page: http://battlestarfanclub.com/group/flying-tigers-squadron-logo/forum/topics/viper-and-raptor-training-manuals
The Viper exam has some question that are similar to the Raptor exam you've already taken. I recommend all my pilots to take both exams for this very reason. If you score 100% on the Viper exam you will become a Top Gun pilot.
Here's a link to the CDF Ops Manual as well. The Ops Manual is loaded with very interesting and useful BSG information and it also has an exam at the end.

Have fun and I wish you the best.

Here's the Cosplay Day info:

Sorry to get back to you so late. I just noticed your question. Blackstar squadron is into costuming for the Original Series. There's also another group on Face Book that organizes something like Cosplay Day, or something like that. I'll try to find it for you. They have specific dates they try to get groups and individuals to suit up in their costumes in public.
Note that BFC web site and face page are good for GENERAL information, the RAVEN site page and facebook page have much more data germane to our circle. Then the other pages, like the costume Group, are just extra fun and sources. Suggest you look at the page on any member you want to "Friend" before doing so. Cheers.
Hello Paul,
Most certainly you can be a pilot, and of both Vipers and Raptors if you wish. Completing that course and testing will get you commissioned as an Ensign JG, I believe. Promotions occur usually once a year in December/January, but are late this year. Positions other than Pilot start as low level enlisted. If you start as an officer, you carry that rank into any other job, and there are many: Engineers; Bridge Crew; Doctor; Historian; Marine; and many more. They call you nugget but you're way ahead of the game, as there is a strong class/caste system. Some Command slots require being a Pilot. See this site for rank structure and Collar Pips: http://en.battlestarwiki.org/wiki/Military_Ranks_(RDM) . Note that ALL Major Military ships have hangers and organic Pilots and craft. I would suggest that you consider being a Pilot, Trireme Command Staff AND perhaps a Colonial Marine. Note that Raptor Pilots are NOT considered Combat Pilots, though they fight and attack enemy ships and ground forces, again the Class System. So, you joined the Raven and that will soon show on your page here, you can be in our Battle Group Group (not a typo), and any other Group as long as it is not another ship not IN our Battle Group: for example a Raven BG squadron; and the Raven Leadership Group (by invitation only); and the gamers; and the UK Costuming Group (one of my Groups, with excellent costume data base); or many others. Enough rambling, will send more later, lmk if you have more questions. Note that the BFC site is military stuff and members only, FaceBook site preferably for more social and non-member cont. Take care, Paul
Welcome aboard the Battlestar Raven Paul, it's great to have you join our crew! ! ! !
I see that your favorite BSG character is Colonel Tigh. I’m a fan of both Old and New Galactica and my favorite character is Starbuck from both series. When it comes to Cylon skin jobs, I’m partial to the 6’s and the 8’s.
If you’re interested in becoming a Viper or Raptor pilot you couldn’t have come to a better place than the Battlestar Raven BFC-002
As Col Leonidas mentioned, there is one Raptor and six Viper squadrons aboard the Battlestar Raven. You can check all of them out at this link: http://battlestarfanclub.com/groups/group/listByLocation?location=Battlestar+Raven
At the present time Spartan, Perseus, Hammer, Minotaur and Blackstar squadrons are shorthanded and are looking for more pilots.
The Battlestar Raven is becoming a Battle Group with the addition of the Gunstar Trireme. Gunstar Trireme is looking for crew members as well. Take a look at this link if you’re interested in joining the group: http://battlestarfanclub.com/group/gunstar-trireme-gsr-0201
If flying a Viper isn’t your style, the Raven has many alternatives. You could join The Marines, Engineering, Security, Sick Bay and more. Take a look at the Ravens web site at this link: www.battlestarraven-bfc-002.com Click on Ship Departments to see everything the Raven has to offer; you’ll be glad you did!!!!! The choice is entirely up to you. Note: Pesently the site was moved to a new server and it’s under construction, but you can see the departments except for the Airwing.
I am Captain Reamer squadron leader of the Flying Tiger's. I am always looking for a few more Viper pilots to join my group as well.
SO SAY WE ALL! ! ! ! !
Hello Paul, welcome to the Club. Noticed you indicate a desire to join the Raven, but have not joined a ship or other chapters of the Battlestar Fan Club? You're on the home web site page, you can go below to the page for The Battlestar Raven, the largest Chapter in the international Club, and join a Chapter or ship. You can get a feel for what we do on the site, and hyper-link back to the home Club site. Each ship has on-line participation as Viper Pilots, Marines. Command Staff, Operations, Med, and many more. If you have costumes, we go to Cons nation-wide as a group. Take a look and lmk if you have any questions. Regards, Paul "Iceworm" Oakley, Marine Detachment NCOIC, Battlestar Raven.
