"ONE OF THE OLDEST IF NOT ALREADY THE OLDEST FAN CLUB ORGANIZATION FOR BATTLESTAR GALACTICA"

"There are those who believe that life here began out there, far across the universe, with tribes of humans who may have been the forefathers of the Egyptians, or the Toltecs, or the Mayans. Some believe that there may yet be brothers of man who even now fight to survive, somewhere beyond the heavens."

" ON JULY 1, 2024, THE BATTLESTAR GALACTICA FAN CLUB CELEBRATES 24 YEARS! "

Hi Everyone,

The new Raven Web site is shaping up to be quite an amazing place for all of us. In the mean time while it's under construction, the Viper and Raptor training manuals were not accessible for new pilots. Last night I realized that I could add PDF files to a discussion as long as they are no bigger than 5MB.

All you have to do is right click on the manual of your choice and either select open with Adobe Reader, or save file. I recommend that you save the file to your documents so you don't have to be online while you read through the training manuals. At the end of each manual there is a multiple choice test.

When you complete the test, send it to Admiral Rivera for grading. I have three E-mail addresses for you to use. It's a good idea to send your test answers to two of the Admirals addresses to make sure that he gets your test. Admiral Rivera once told me that his vf84 Yahoo address gave him problems sometimes, but I have been able to reach him at that E-mail address.

1. cag_vf84@yahoo.com

2. eng33ladder49@yahoo.com

Make sure that you don't bunch up your answers in the E-mail you send him. Each test is broken up in chapters. The Viper manual chapters are listed VT-101 for chapter one and so on.

Make sure you greet the Admiral and tell him which test you would like to have graded. Then tell him which state or country you reside in so he can issue your Viper or Raptor Tail Number (VTN or RTN) with your graded test. For example, I live in Rhode Island, my VTN is 07263RI. The first two numbers represent the CDF Fleet of your home state. The next three numbers represent the consecutive number in the CDF Fleet of that state and the two letters are the state you live.

The best way to send your answers is as follows:

Viper Test

VT-101

1. A

2. A

3. A

Raptor Test

RT-101

1. A

2. A

3. A

And so on for each chapter of the test. Make sure you recheck your answers as you type them into your E-mail. If your Viper test score is 100%, you will earn Senior wings and the "Top Gun" award. If you score less than 99% you will earn Junior wings.

The Raptor test if pass/fail (70% or higher to pass) with no extra award if you score 100%. I have never heard of anyone that has taken the test that has failed. Some question in the Raptor test are almost the same as the Viper test so I recommend that you complete both Viper and Raptor training.

I ask that you please post your certificate of completion of the tests you take as photos in your page here at the BFC so everyone can see your commitment to our squadron as well as to the Battlestar Raven.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me anytime.

Good Hunting!!!!!

Hi Everyone,

After I created this discussion I logged out to see if I could download each of the training manuals. I was able to download them and they are complete with the test at the end of each manual.

The Viper test has 100 questions while the Raptor test has only 77 questions. You will notice that chapter RT-103 of the Raptor test has question # 3, 11 and 13 missing for reasons unknown to me. Make sure you number your answers to match the test and you will not have any problems having it graded.

Good Testing!!!!!

Lt Reamer

Hello!

I would like to join the Flying Tigers. I have just completed my Viper test and have sent it into the Admiral. Is there anything else I need to do while I wait for my test results?

Thank you,

Heidi

As you send your scores to Admiral Rivera, please be sure to include the state (or country) in which you reside and the type of craft you wish to fly, Viper or Raptor. This information is used to determine your tail number. Thank you!
