Hello everyone,
my name is Katharina and I am a student from Germany. I am giving a presentation about the word ''Frak'' in my ''Im/Politeness in Cultural Contexts'' seminar and would like to ask you all for your help by answering a few questions :-)
1) I am collecting a list with all the various uses/forms of frak (frack). I already have a nice list with the various uses of the word but I am happy to hear from you how and in which way you use it. :-) My research goal is to find out if and how (much) the word 'Frak' enters the English language, even outside of fan culture.
2) It would be great if you could answer the following few question:
How often do you use the word frak?
a) Never
b) Seldom
c) Often
Where do you know the word from?
a) From the Original Battlestar
b) From RDM's Battlestar
c) Friends/Family introduced me to the word
d) Other (please specify)
What is your sex?
a) female
b) male
Is 'Frak' a replacement for you for the word 'f***' or just another word to put emphasis on what you say?
a) Replacement for f***
b) I use both words
c) I use it to put emphasis on what I say
d) I use it because I think it's cool
e) Other (please specify)
Just answer the questions by replying here, please.
Does anyone have, by any chance, the CNN article ''What the Frak?'' from 2008 saved and could me provide with it? CNN had to take the article down, but I was hoping someone might have saved it ;-)
Thanks for your help, it's very much appreciated :-)
P.S.: Comments are welcome!
