Starbuck was my favorite, he had a carefree but fun attitude, but he could be serious when he had to be, but always got the job done. I hated the way he left the show.

Apollo was next, he had a tough role, being the son of the Commander. He wanted to be one of the guys but had to be on a more serious note, more than everyone else.

My favorite character was Captain Apollo, the bravest and smartest warrior on the ship. But I have to admit that as a young man I was in love with his beautiful sister Athena.

Would have to say Starbuck. Wasn't too happy when i first heard Starbuck in the new show would be female, but she kinda grew on me. But there's nothing like the original, though.

Without question, my favorite character from the original series was Commander Cain, played by Lloyd Bridges, even if it was just that one appearance. Starbuck, Apollo, and Boomer would be my joint next choice. I say joint in the context that they formed a team that somewhat resembled the on screen chemistry of Kirk/Spock/McCoy in ST TOS.

Lt.s Sheba and Bojay were great, each in their own ways, but the toss up is still between Starbuck and Apollo. The characters had strengths and weakness' that appealed to me. The'Galactic Bad boy' wasn't bad, but he had a way of finding some fun, even in the worst situations...Starbuck, that is. Cassie was a good character, who seemed to have a 'steading' influence on him, but was more 'fun' than Athena! Apollo was always 'Adama's son, couldn't kick up his heels as much, but was more…

Apollo was always 'Adama's son, couldn't kick up his heels as much, but was more dependable. Boomer was a good 'Wing man for both, have some fun, but 'lets not get too crazy' So, fav character...Starbuck, best 'couple'...Cassie and Starbuck...character that should have seen more development...Lt. Sheba.

That's my 'two cubits' worth! Speaking of which, anyone know of a vendor who still has 'cubits' from classic BSG?? Or, new BSG cubits, and were they just gold and silver, or was there 'brass and copper' cubits too??
Apollo, hands down. Apollo, hands down. The fact that he MARRIED a single mom and then adopted her child as his own before AND after she died. He wasn't trying to put a notch on his bedpost. He wasn't trying to dishonor her. He sincerely loved her and sincerely loved her son also. He took responsibility as a father, raised that child, and taught him to be a man. THAT is what makes him a hero.

Count me as as another for Starbuck. His roguish charm was just simply irresistible.

Though, I also really loved Sheba. She was a total badass pilot, and as she integrated with the Galactica crew she became a really well-rounded character.
