The Colonial Alliance was created originally in concept March of 2010 by the Leadership of the Battlestar Galactica Fanclub and the Colonial Defense Forces. It was intended to enhance the experience of fans around the world and of both groups by facilitating a partnership that allowed the Colonial Defense Forces to control the Leadership of the Battlestar Fanclub fans that love to don Uniforms and role play a Military Structure. This was an area that was sorely needed within the Battlestar Fanclub.
In return the Battlestar Fanclub would take control and provide leadership for those fans of the Colonial Defense Forces that wanted to be involved in a Civilian Government that would represent fans at the table alongside of website owners and administrator.

It was believed that this would allow fans to have some control and a voice in future developments of Fanclub sites and activities. When the Alliance was first publicly announced to the Battlestar Fanclub it was met with huge approval and was wildly popular amongst the fans and the Leadership of the group. It was not initially popular on the Colonial Defense Forces side though. Fans in that group initially felt betrayed. Some believed they had been the victim of a take over. This was mostly due to the way that fans had been told of the alliance, eventually the fans of the Colonial Defense Forces were educated as to what had happened and what it would mean for them, after a very emotional election within the Colonial Defense Forces the Alliance was approved in a Landslide.

The Colonial Alliance was Born.

With the members of the Colonial Defense Forces Quorum of the 12 joining a new United Government the Battlestar Council was created establishing a new Fan group born of both the Battlestar Galactica Fanclub and the Colonial Defense Forces

As a result of the Election, the Group Colonial Cylon Alliance was admitted to the Colonial Alliance in a Landslide election within the Battlestar Council.

January 1st 2012 is the Official Birthday of The Colonial Alliance. The Original Members of the Colonial Alliance are
